Terms of Service

Last updated: August 20, 2026

Scope: these terms cover this website — lotjacket.ca, the waitlist, demo bookings, and the free guides and resources. If you become a Lot Jacket customer, using the product itself is governed by the subscription agreement presented at signup, not this page.

1. Acceptance of these terms

By using lotjacket.ca — browsing the site, joining the waitlist, booking a demo, or downloading a resource — you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

2. What this site offers

Lot Jacket is deal-jacket software built for independent used-car dealers in Ontario. This website describes the product, lets you join an early-access waitlist, book a free demo, and download free resources (a printable deal-file checklist, a forms pack, an audit self-check). It doesn't itself provide any of the product's functionality — that lives in the separate, authenticated product application available to customers.

3. The waitlist & demo bookings

Joining the waitlist or booking a demo doesn't create a purchase, subscription, or any payment obligation. Pricing shown on this site (including any founding-dealer offer) is current general information, not a binding quote — actual pricing and terms are confirmed when you sign up as a customer. We may change or discontinue the waitlist or any offer described on this site at any time.

4. Free resources & guides

The deal-file checklist, forms pack, audit self-check, and the library of guides at lotjacket.ca/blog are provided free, for general informational use by Ontario dealers. You may use and print them for your own dealership's operations. You may not resell them, republish them as your own, or redistribute them at scale without our permission.

5. Not legal or compliance advice

Nothing on this site — the guides, the checklists, the forms pack, or anything said on a demo call — is legal, compliance, or professional advice, and none of it should be relied on as a substitute for advice from a qualified lawyer or your own review of OMVIC's current requirements. OMVIC rules and Ontario law change; always confirm current requirements directly with OMVIC or a qualified advisor before relying on anything published here. Individual guides carry this same disclaimer where relevant.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

7. Intellectual property

The Lot Jacket name, logo, site design, and the text of the guides and pages on this site are owned by Lot Jacket unless otherwise noted. Third-party names referenced for comparison or informational purposes (OMVIC, CARFAX, and others) belong to their respective owners and are used descriptively, not to imply endorsement — see the specific disclosure on any page that names them.

8. Third-party links

Guides on this site link to primary sources (omvic.ca, ontario.ca) and, occasionally, to other companies' websites for context. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content or their own privacy practices — check their own terms before relying on anything there.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

This site and its content are provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We work to keep the guides accurate against primary sources, but we don't guarantee that anything on this site is complete, current, or error-free, and OMVIC/Ontario requirements can change after a guide is published.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lot Jacket isn't liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of this site or reliance on its content. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited under applicable law.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable in Ontario, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
