What is a deal jacket? A deal jacket is the file that holds every document for one vehicle sale: the bill of sale, buyer ID, written disclosures, vehicle history and lien search, safety certificate or as-is statement, financing and trade-in paperwork, and proof of delivery. Traditionally it's a physical manila folder. In Ontario, dealers must keep those records for six years — and it's what OMVIC looks at when your records are inspected.

Deal jacket software vs. a traditional DMS
